Spirit and Mother Earth are calling for us to abandon the colonial ways and return to the land.
This ceremony is designed to introduce participants on how to navigate the process of decolonizing and returning to the land while inspire them to bring these teachings to their home fires and local tribes. We have held a spring, summer and fall ceremony already and now it is time for winter!
I will have a tipi setup with a stove inside for heat and cooking. This space will be used for our circles but can also be used as an emergency shelter or for those who don’t have winter camping gear. Strong tribal protocols will be in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all involved.
Participants will be responsible for their own shelter, bedding, food, dishes, clothing, snow shoes, axe, saw, matches, first aid and anything else they will need for winter camping. Be prepared for temperatures that can go down to -40C with wind chills lower than -50C. It is also possible to have warm weather and melting snow! The forestry road will be closed for the winter, so I will shovel out a spot near the highway for parking and guide people to Silent Dancer on foot! I have a pelican sled, but if people have their own sleds, that would be wonderful!
This event is limited to 4 men and 4 women. We will provide detailed directions when we finalize the list of participants. There is no cost to this event, although we do ask that you pay it forward! If you have ceremonial drums, etc, please feel free to bring them along as well.
People are welcome to come a day early to setup and settle in before the ceremony starts early in the morning and stay an extra day to pack up and hike out.
Note: This ceremony WILL include teachings on how I emancipated Silent Dancer and myself through peaceful, non-violent ways!
