UNDRIP, Decolonization & Reconciliation

We dived into the UN Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Canada’s implementation through Bill C-15, which lead to the Constitution Act of 1982, Royal Proclamation of 1763, Treaty 6 of 1876 and a lengthy discussion of jurisdiction, decolonization and reconciliation. It was a heavy class, but well worth the effort to explore what the UN and Canada is not doing and where the true reconciliation will come from … each individual doing the work!
